By sponsoring M2PI, your organization helps:

  • Expand access to work-integrated learning opportunities for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers
  • Strengthen the connection between advanced mathematical research and real-world application
  • Support the development of future talent equipped to work across industry, government, and non-profit sectors
  • Increase the reach and impact of a program that helps organizations explore innovative solutions to complex challenges

M2PI sponsorships are managed by the University of British Columbia on behalf of M2PI and PIMS. Donations are processed through UBC’s secure giving page and include tax receipts. All funds directly support the Math to Power Industry (M2PI).

What Your Support Enables

Sponsor contributions sustain and grow the program by supporting:

  • Trainee Teams - enabling more students and postdoctoral fellows to participate
  • Program Delivery - training, coordination, and mentorship
  • Capstone Experience - strengthening final projects and presentations

Additional support expands participation, partner engagement, and overall program impact.

Why It Matters

Organizations across Canada face complex challenges involving data, uncertainty, optimization, forecasting, and decision-making. M2PI addresses these needs by preparing mathematical talent for work beyond academia and connecting organizations with fresh analytical perspectives.

Your sponsorship helps build long-term capacity for innovation, collaboration, and talent development.

Ways to Engage

Organizations can participate in several ways:

  • As a sponsor - supporting program growth
  • As a project partner - submitting real-world challenges
  • As both - combining sponsorship with direct engagement

Sponsorship is open to organizations regardless of project participation.

Sponsorships are administered by UBC on behalf of M2PI and PIMS. If donating by phone or mail, please specify: “Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS) Donations Fund T206 M2PI Sponsor”. Tax receipts are issued by UBC, and all funds directly support M2PI.
